Este estudo tem o objetivo de compreender qual o efeito que o apoio organizacional
percebido demonstra ter na motivação e satisfação no trabalho dos empregados de
alojamentos turísticos em Portugal. Por forma a alcançar-se esse fim, foi elaborado e
implementado um inquérito por questionário a 398 pessoas que trabalhem ou já tenham
trabalhado em alojamentos turísticos, em Portugal. Os resultados indicam que o apoio
organizacional percebido está positivamente associado tanto à motivação como à satisfação
no trabalho, assim como a motivação está associada de forma positiva à satisfação no
trabalho. A motivação tem também poder moderador na relação entre o apoio organizacional
percebido e a satisfação no trabalho.
Este estudo poderá ser útil aos gestores hoteleiros por forma a perceberem o que
estimula os seus trabalhadores e, que aspetos é que devem ser trabalhados por forma a
melhorar as suas perceções. Em virtude de medidas que possam vir a ser implementadas, os
trabalhadores poderão sentir apoio vindo das suas organizações, logo sentirão um maior grau
tanto de motivação como de satisfação no trabalho.
This study aims to understand the effect of the perceived organizational support on the work motivation and satisfaction of the tourist accommodations employees in Portugal. In order to achieve this goal, a survey was developed and implemented on a group of 398 people who work or have worked in tourist accommodations, in Portugal. The results indicate that perceived organizational support is positively associated with motivation and with job satisfaction, as well as motivation is positively associated with job satisfaction. Motivation also has the power of moderation in the relationship between perceived organizational support and job satisfaction. This study may be useful to hotel managers in order to understand what stimulates their workers and, what aspects should be developed in order to improve their perceptions. Due to measures implemented, workers could feel support from their organizations, therefore, the degree of work motivation and satisfation that they feel will increase.
