Este estudo pretende observar se o uso de tatuagens, uma característica não relevante para o
desempenho de um candidato, influencia a decisão final tomada pelo responsável pelo
processo de recrutamento e seleção. Se tal influência for observada, será traduzida num ato
discriminatório.
O presente estudo teve uma amostra de 120 participantes, todos eles estudantes universitários
pertencentes à população portuguesa. Foi elaborado um anúncio de emprego fictício e foram
entregues quatro currículos fictícios (Mulher com tatuagem, Mulher sem tatuagem, Homem
com tatuagem e Homem sem tatuagem) aos participantes. Estes teriam de avaliar os
currículos indicando se os candidatos seriam ou não selecionados para preencher a vaga.
Os resultados deste estudo demonstraram que o candidato Homem com tatuagem foi o
preferencialmente escolhido ao invés dos restantes candidatos. Este resultado indica que não é
visível discriminação para com os candidatos com tatuagens visíveis.

A fictitious Job advertisement was made and four fictitious curriculums were delivered (a women with tattoos, a women without tattoos, a man with tattoos and a man without tattoos) to the participants. They had to evaluate the curriculum indicating if they would selected the candidate or not. The final results showed that the man with tattoos was the most choosen one, compared the others. In summary this study demonstrated that there’s no discrimination against the candidates who have visible tattoos.
