Abstract(s)

As a result of the growing single-use plastic problem faced nowadays, new alternatives of various materials are being created to help fight the problem. However, the impact of these alternatives is yet to find out. The success or failure of those alternatives is in the purchasing behaviour of the consumer. The theme of this investigation is related to “Green Marketing”, more precisely understand the dimension concerning the consumer's perception with single-use plastic alternatives. This study aims to understand if single-use plastic alternatives are viewed as another trend or a good solution on the lens of the consumer. The investigation is based on a qualitative methodology. A systematic literature review to gather all the essential literature and interviews, which were made to a diversified audience to understand their perceptions regarding the alternatives. The research findings of the qualitative method approach indicated that the consumer sees the single-use alternatives as a possible good solution but yet far from perfection. However, the concern over the environment is evident, and the elimination of single-use plastics is being seen as almost crucial.
