A dificuldade no
A terceira
efetuada a síntese final do relatório.
This internship report was prepared as part of the curricular unit "Professional Nature Internship with Report – Module II", integrated into the study plan of the Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Nursing at the Escola Superior de Enfermagem do Porto (ESEP). In this context, the report stems from an individual project developed in Module I and results from a reflective and reasoned analysis of the training path undertaken. It is anchored in the internship contexts, in the development of the common and specific competencies of the Rehabilitation Nursing Specialist Nurse (EEER), as well as in the consolidation of the theoretical- practical knowledge acquired throughout the curricular unit. The Rehabilitation Nursing Specialist Nurse plays a key role in promoting the person’s autonomy and functionality throughout the different stages of life, intervening in alterations that compromise functional performance and active participation in society. Their practice is directed towards the identification of needs, planning, and implementation of personalized therapeutic interventions, aiming at the preservation or recovery of capabilities, prevention of complications, and support for reintegration into the family and community setting. With advanced training, the specialist applies specific rehabilitation methods and techniques, intervening across different levels of care, hospital, home, and community, thereby promoting a continuous, person-centered approach supported by the best available evidence. In this sense, particular emphasis was placed on the intervention of the EEER in older adults with impaired gait, given the high prevalence of mobility limitations in this population and the growing demographic aging in Portugal. Difficulty in walking is one of the main complaints reported by older adults, thus making investment in this area essential. This report is structured as follows: first, the clinical contexts in which the internships took place are described. Then, a case study is presented, along with the design of rehabilitation nursing care based on the best evidence and nursing ontology. The third part aims to explore the development of common and specific rehabilitation nursing competencies throughout the learning process, sustained by critical reflection. Finally, a concluding synthesis of the report is provided.
