Abstract(s)
O volume de dados que as unidades da Marinha Portuguesa, no âmbito da atividade operacional, trocam entre si é amplo e variado. O modo como cada unidade trata os dados é dissemelhante, o que dificulta o processo de análise e de tomada de decisão de forma unificada. A difusão dos dados ocorre através de Mensagens de Texto Formatado e Mensagens Estruturadas, sendo que provoca dificuldades no tratamento de dados por serem mensagens com formatos distintos. Perante isto, procedeu-se a uma análise dos dados pertencentes aos dois tipos de mensagem referidos acima, onde se obtiveram conclusões para uma estrutura de mensagem que abrange os dados mais importantes e que possibilita um tratamento automático e uniforme entre as unidades.
Esses referidos dados que circulam entre as unidades, necessitam de um tratamento que se baseia na deteção e correção de incongruências e, desta forma, origina informação. No entanto, verifica-se que nem toda a informação tem um caráter relevante, isto é, que influencie no processo de tomada de decisão, o que constitui uma necessidade de gestão de informação relevante.
Atualmente, estamos perante uma confluência de novas tecnologias, sendo que muitas delas são fundamentadas em sistemas de informação e possuem ferramentas que conformam um auxílio significativo quer no tratamento de dados, quer na visualização de informação e consequentemente, um impacto na tomada de decisão.
Deste modo, foi identificada a necessidade de conceber, desenhar e implementar um sistema que permita a recolha, tratamento, integração, consolidação, e análise dos dados relevantes, contidos nas mensagens, para que estes possam contribuir para a mais eficaz e eficiente tomada de decisão.
Com o intuito de promover a visualização da informação relevante, sumarizada e de interesse, a presente dissertação tem como finalidade a conceção de uma solução que contribua para que as unidades da Marinha obtenham uma visão unificada, que compreenda apenas a informação relevante.
Para esse efeito, foi edificado um sistema Online Analytical Processing, suportado por Data Warehouse, Data Mart e por componentes de uma solução de Business Intelligence, que tem como prova de conceito a fiscalização de pesca e como aplicação assistir às necessidades de informação e tomada de decisão de utilizadores a diferentes níveis da organização.
The volume of data that the units of the Portuguese Navy, under the operational activity, exchange with each other is wide and varied. The way each unit handles the data is dissimilar, what hinders the process of analysis and decision-making of unified form. The dissemination of data occurs through Message Text Formats and Structured Messages and causes difficulties in the processing of data by being messages with different formats. Given this, an analysis of the data pertaining to the two types of message referred to above, where obtained conclusion for a message structure that covers the most important data and enabling automatic and uniform treatment between the units. These data circulating between units, require a treatment which is based on detection and correction of inconsistencies and in this way, information originates. However, it turns out that not all the information has a relevant character, this is that influence in the decision-making process, which is a need for relevant information management. Currently, we are facing a confluence of new technologies, and that many of them are based on information systems and have tools that make up a significant aid both in data processing, both on information visualization and therefore an impact on decision-making. Thus, it was identified the need to conceive, design and implement a system for the collection, processing, integration, consolidation, and analysis of the relevant data contained in the messages, so that they can contribute to the more effective and efficient decision-making. In order to promoting the visualization of relevant information, summarized and of interest, the present dissertation has as purpose the design of a solution that contribute so that the units of the Navy get a unified view, which includes only relevant information. For this effect, was built a system Online Analytical Processing supported by Data Warehouse, Data Mart and by components of a solution of Business Intelligence, that has a proof concept the fisheries inspection and as an application watch the information needs and user decision making at different levels of the organization.
