| dc.description.abstract | O envelhecimento é um processo presente em todos os indivíduos, apesar de, a população idosa registar um aumento, resultado de vários fatores. As Estruturas Residenciais para Pessoas Idosas, assumem-se, cada vez mais, como uma porta de entrada para os idosos que têm dificuldades em arranjar respostas para as suas necessidades. Por outro lado, a COVID-19 veio influenciar as relações sociais e familiares dos idosos institucionalizados, na medida em que, estes estiveram algum tempo afastados, devido às medidas que a situação vivida exigia a todos. Assim, nesta investigação decidiu interpelar-se esta temática, através de um estudo de cariz qualitativo, de forma a ter uma perceção do quão as relações dos idosos institucionalizados no decorrer da pandemia foram afetadas. Desta forma, a técnica de recolha de dados utilizada foi uma entrevista semiestruturada, com foco nas relações dos idosos, antes e durante a pandemia, visto que é um ciclo que não terminou. Após a análise dos dados, foi possível reconhecer que, as relações sociais e familiares dos idosos institucionalizados, foram afetadas pela COVID-19, visto que, as restrições necessárias para a diminuição do risco de transmissão/proteção da população, constituíram-se como obstáculos aos hábitos e rotinas que eram frequentes antes do início da pandemia. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Aging is a process present in all individuals, although the elderly population is in-creasing, as a result of several factors. Residential Structures for the Elderly are increasingly seen as a gateway for the elderly who have difficulties in finding answers to their needs. On the other hand, COVID-19 came to influence the social and family relationships of institutionalized elderly people, as they were away for some time, due to the measures that the lived situation required of everyone. Thus, in this investigation it was decided to address this issue, through a qualitative study, in order to have a perception of how the relationships of institutionalized elderly people during the pandemic were affected. In this way, the data collection technique used was a semi-structured interview, fo-cusing on the relationships of the elderly, before and during the pandemic, since it is a cycle that has not ended. After analyzing the data, it was possible to recognize that the social and family rela-tionships of the institutionalized elderly were affected by COVID-19, since the restrictions nec-essary to reduce the risk of transmission/protection of the population constituted obstacles to the habits and routines that were frequent before the beginning of the pandemic. | pt_PT |
