Abstract(s)
A Academia da Força Aérea (AFA) está, à semelhança dos Estabelecimentos de Ensino Superior Universitário Português, a reestruturar os seus cursos a fim de os integrar plenamente no “Processo de Bolonha”. Sendo na Academia que se inicia o percurso de aculturação à vida militar dos “Chefes do amanhã”, há que aproveitar esta oportunidade para reflectir e propor as alterações que julgamos possíveis para melhorar e racionalizar o Ensino Superior Militar na Força Aérea.
Para cumprir o desiderato que nos propusemos fizemos a análise dos modelos de ensino dos Estabelecimentos Militares de Ensino Superior (EMES) portugueses, de algumas escolas militares europeias, que já implementaram o sistema baseado em unidades curriculares europeias, decorrente do Processo de Bolonha, bem como das Academias da Força Aérea Americana e Brasileira o que nos permitiu elaborar algumas propostas que poderão contribuir para a racionalização do sistema de ensino da AFA.
Ao testarmos as hipóteses de formação conjunta, recrutamento de licenciados das universidades ou manter o sistema misto, concluímos que é possível a existência de formação conjunta das engenharias e da administração, bem como, se necessário o recrutamento de licenciados. Quanto às especialidades de Medicina, Direito e Psicologia deve manter-se o actual recrutamento.
Por ultimo propusemos a inclusão da fase básica do curso de pilotagem nos quatro anos curriculares do curso de Piloto Aviador. Abstract: The Portuguese Air Force Academy (PoAF) is restructuring its courses so that they comply entirely with the Bologna Declaration. By enrolling in this process, the Air Force
Academy is progressing side by side with the other Portuguese Higher Education Institutions. Since the Academy is the place where “The Leaders of the Future” start their journey, it is mandatory that we take advantage of this opportunity to consider and propose the changes which will make the Higher Education in the PrtAF better and more rational.
To achieve this goal, we have analyzed the teaching models of the Military Higher Education Institutions in Portugal as well as the models of some other European Military Institutions which have already adopted the curricular unit model proposed in the Bologna Declaration. In addition, we have also studied the workings of the Brazilian and American Air Force Academies. This analysis has allowed us to reach some conclusions that lead to proposals aiming to rationalize the education model in the PrtAF.
We have evaluated the three existent possibilities: having a joint education,
recruiting university graduates, or keeping a mixed model. From this analysis, we have concluded that it is possible to have a joint education in the engineering and administration areas together with the recruitment of university graduates, shall this need arise. With regard to the Medical Doctors, Lawyers and Psychologists, we think that the model should remain the same: the actual recruiting of university graduates.
To conclude, we have proposed the inclusion of the Basic Trayning Phase in the four curricular years of the Pilot’s Degree Course.
