Abstract(s)
As doenças neurológicas têm um elevado impacto social, económico e pessoal nos indivíduos que dela padecem, têm também grande impacto nos orçamentos das despesas em saúde a nível mundial. A lesão medular é definida por qualquer agressão á medula espinhal, que cause dano à mesma, afetando a sua função, de forma temporária ou permanente. A Lesão Vertebro-Medular (LVM), tem implicações nas funções vitais, sensoriomotoras e no sistema nervoso autónomo. A pessoa com LVM, sofre impactos ao nível da funcionalidade, repercutindo-se na sua vida pessoa, social, e na maioria dos casos, durante toda a sua vida.
A intervenção do Enfermeiro Especialista em Enfermagem de Reabilitação (EEER), junto da pessoa com LVM, tem uma grande área de abrangência, e requer conhecimentos específicos. O EEER, apresenta competências que lhe permitem cuidar, planear e adequar intervenções junto da pessoa com LVM, nas várias fase da doença, desde a fase aguda à fase de sequelas; as suas intervenções vão de encontro ás necessidades da pessoa, e têm como objetivo identificar os défices de autocuidado, e através de planos de reabilitação direcionados, maximizar as potencialidades da pessoa com LVM, instruir os seus familiares/cuidadores, de forma a capacitá-los para uma melhor prestação e continuidade de cuidados, bem como alertar para os riscos e/ou possíveis complicações associadas à LVM.
Assim, no âmbito do curso de mestrado na área de especialidade de enfermagem de reabilitação, o objetivo deste relatório é a descrição e reflexão sobre o percurso formativo, sobre a aquisição das competências comuns e especificas do EEER, suportado pelas experiências e atividades realizadas ao longo dos ensinos clínicos.
Pretende-se salientar o papel do EEER, na prestação de cuidados à pessoa com LVM, e qual o seu papel na transmissão de conhecimentos à mesma, na aquisição de capacidades no que ao Autocuidado diz respeito.

Spinal cord injury is defined as any aggression to the spinal cord that causes damage to it, affecting its function, temporarily or permanently. Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) has implications for vital, sensorimotor and autonomic nervous system functions. The person with SCI suffers impacts in terms of functionality, affecting their personal, social, and in most cases, life-long. The intervention of the Specialist Nurse in Rehabilitation Nursing (SNRN), with the person with SCI, has a large area of coverage, and requires specific knowledge. The SNRN has skills that allow it to care, plan and adapt interventions to the person with SCI, in the various stages of the disease, from the acute phase to the sequelae phase; their interventions meet the needs of the person, and aim to identify self-care deficits, and through targeted rehabilitation plans, maximize the potential of the person with SCI, instruct their relatives/caregivers, in order to enable them to better provide and continuity of care, as well as warn of the risks and/or possible complications associated with SCI. Thus, within the scope of the master's degree course in the specialty area of rehabilitation nursing, the objective of this report is to describe and reflect on the training path, on the acquisition of common and specific SNRN skills, supported by the experiences and activities carried out throughout clinical teaching. It is intended to highlight the role of the SNRN, in the provision of care to the person with SCI, and its role in the transmission of knowledge to them, in the acquisition of skills with regard to Self-Care.
