Acontecimentos inesperados podem acontecer, levando-nos a tomar certas decisões
como forma de sobrevivência, seja social, económica e cultural. Foi o que aconteceu com
chegada do novo coronavírus Covid-19 no ano de 2020 causando uma pandemia. Um dos
setores que mais sofreram com esse episódio foi o sistema educativo, o qual teve que recorrer
às tecnologias de comunicação e passar para a modalidade de ensino a distância online
rapidamente como forma de continuar exercendo o seu papel, causando assim uma lacuna em
todo o processo de ensino-aprendizagem. Por conta desse cenário, tem aumentado
consideravelmente a procura por explicações como forma de suprir essa necessidade. O
objetivo desse trabalho constituiu em conhecer mais profundamente o mercado desse fenómeno
mundial, assim como as tecnologias que o acompanha. Nesse sentido, foi inicialmente realizada
uma revisão da literatura para entender melhor o mercado das explicações, os variados tipos de
ensino a distância, bem como as tecnologias usadas e o impacto da pandemia nesse setor.
Posteriormente, foram recolhidos dados qualitativos para realizar um diagnóstico interno e
externo do Centro de Estudos e Formação Educate, com o intuito de compreender o negócio e
propor recomendações e estratégias para a expansão do serviço de explicações online para os
países pertencentes ao CPLP (Comunidade dos Países de Língua Portuguesa). Os resultados
analisados revelaram que além da pandemia ter adiado o que já era previsto em termos de ensino
a distância online, a presença no mundo virtual, o conhecimento das variadas formas de EaD
(Ensino a Distância) e TIC (Tecnologias da informação e comunicação) e do mercado em que
deseja atuar são essenciais para o sucesso da expansão e permanência do negócio online, uma
vez que o foco principal é atender às necessidades do cliente.
Unexpected events can happen, causing us to make certain decisions to survive, be it social, economic, and cultural. This is what happened with the arrival of the new coronavirus Covid-19 in the year 2020 causing a pandemic. One of the sectors that suffered most from this episode was the educational system, which had to resort to communication technologies and move quickly to the distance learning modality as a way to continue exercising its teaching role, thus causing a gap in the teaching-learning process. Because of this scenario, the demand for explanations has increased considerably as a way to meet this need. The objective of this work was to know more deeply the market of this worldwide phenomenon, as well as the technologies that accompany it. To this end, a literature review was initially conducted to better understand the private tutoring market, the various types of distance learning, as well as the technologies used, and the impact of the pandemic on this sector. Subsequently, qualitative data was collected to carry out an internal and external diagnosis of the Educate Study and Training Center, in order to understand the business and propose recommendations and strategies for the expansion of the online tutoring service to countries belonging to the CPLP (Community of Portuguese Language Countries). The results analysed reveal that besides the pandemic having postponed what was already anticipated in terms of online distance learning, presence in the virtual world, and knowledge and supply of the various forms of distance learning and ICT (Information and communications technology) and the market in which it wishes to operate are essential to the success of the expansion and permanence of the online business, since the ultimate goal being to meet customer needs.
