Abstract(s)
The objective of this dissertation is to analyze how RTP-Açores, namely Telejornal, marked the transition of its work to social networks in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. The pandemic brought many constraints and, like other areas and sectors, the world of communication and media also had to adjust in order to continue to fulfill its purpose in this case as a public television channel in the Autonomous Region of the Azores. Social networks are increasingly becoming a tool that is an integral part of our daily lives from a personal and professional perspective. So we asked several questions, including how did RTP-Açores make its transition to social networks? Did RTP-Açores adapt the content? Created new ones? How did RTP-Açores embrace the challenge? How RTP-Açores faced with new opportunities to interact with audience? This analysis intends to find possible answers in a context of change and cyclical crisis on a global scale in which the Azores Archipelago, despite its geographical discontinuity, whether in relation to mainland Portugal or inter-islands, was not left out.
