Abstract(s)
do lugar.
objetivos definidos visaram inventariar e classificar o património vernáculo;
identificar materiais, técnicas construtivas e tipologias; mas igualmente
correlacionar as analogias existentes entre o património inventariado, o
meio ambiente, o clima e o conhecimento empírico.
A investigação é do tipo descritiva e
A dissertação
construções permitiu identificar a unidade base, distinguir e classificar as
A reflexão
Abstract: The alterations of the lifestyle and of the local architecture, the use of new techniques and materials that do not always fit the place, gradually results on the loss of identity and characteristics of the place. The knowledge and experience acquired over centuries will be lost, as new buildings are being erected, thus altering the link with the past. An immediate awareness of this inherited heritage is urgent, to valorize its significance. The objectives of the research were established considering the alterations of the vernacular buildings and the consequent loss of identity. Thus, the defined objectives were aimed at inventorying and classifying the vernacular heritage, identifying materials, building techniques and typologies, but also correlate the analogies between inventoried heritage, the environment, climate and empirical knowledge. In response to these objectives, analysis was made of the vernacular building typology, its materiality and construction techniques used, in order to establish the causal interaction of vernacular building with empirical knowledge and geographical context. Methodologically, it is a case study investigation of the vernacular architecture of Guadramil, Portugal. The research type is descriptive and documentary, and is based on qualitative methods of analysis. The thesis was developed in six parts. The research problem is identified through the justification and the definition of objectives, enhanced by the research methodology explaining the method of work (chapt.1). To underline are the chapters concerning the theoretical ground, composed of the literature review, following the documentary research and the study of the referenced publications (chap.2 and chapt.3); the elaboration of the inquiries, resulting from the collection and the systematization of specific data by means of fieldwork (chap.4), content analysis and structuring of the preliminary results (chap.5), thus providing, the essential data to the meaning of reflections and the definition of the final conclusions (chapt. 6). The research contributes to the identification, assessment and register of vernacular heritage built in Guadramil, municipality of Bragança, Portugal. It contributes in particular to understanding the use of certain materials in rural structures, as well as identifying the constructive methods and techniques associated with the empirical knowledge and the environment. The analysis of the interventions in buildings permitted the identification of a base unit, distinguish and classify in vernacular buildings of Guadramil by structure and type. The reflextion associated to the obtained results, has an important contribution to safeguard future actions, in this vernacular heritage at risk.
