| dc.description.abstract | A acne é uma doença inflamatória cutânea que afeta as unidades pilossebáceas da pele. Existem quatro fatores patológicos que são responsáveis pela formação da acne e que são o alvo da terapêutica. Nesta revisão, diferentes opções terapêuticas são discutidas, incluindo tratamentos tópicos e sistémicos. Devido ao aumento da resistência do Cutibacterium acnes aos antibióticos disponíveis e ineficácia de alguns dos tratamentos, é necessário investir em novas alternativas terapêuticas como é o caso da ozonoterapia. Esta técnica tem inúmeras aplicações clínicas devido às propriedades imunológicas, antimicrobianas e capacidade de oxigenação, apresentando-se como alternativa ao tratamento das lesões da acne, como um tratamento individual ou combinado com outros medicamentos convencionais. A identificação de evidência para a utilização do ozono justifica-se, pois, esse conhecimento pode contribuir para que profissionais de saúde optem por esta terapêutica como 1º linha ou em situações em que os outros protocolos não funcionam. Atualmente ainda se recorre à terapêutica convencional no tratamento da acne, apesar dos diversos efeitos secundários associados a esta. A ozonoterapia apresenta-se como uma alternativa segura, eficaz, não invasiva e de baixo custo, embora o seu uso ainda seja bastante limitado em dermatologia por escassez de estudos. O presente trabalho consiste numa revisão da literatura, sobre a eficácia e segurança da ozonoterapia no tratamento da acne. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Acne is an inflammatory skin disease that affects the pilosebaceous units of the skin. There are four pathological factors that are responsible for the formation of acne and that are the target of therapy. In this review, different therapeutic options are discussed, including topical and systemic treatments. Due to the increased resistance of Cutibacterium acnes to available antibiotics and inefficacy of some of the treatments, it is necessary to invest in new therapeutic alternatives such as ozone therapy. This technique has numerous clinical applications due to its immunological, antimicrobial properties and oxygenation capacity, presenting itself as an alternative to the treatment of acne lesions, as an individual treatment or combined with other conventional medicines. The identification of evidence for the use of ozone is justified, therefore, this knowledge can contribute for health professionals to opt for this therapy as the 1st line or in situations where the other protocols do not work. Nowadays, conventional therapy is still used in the treatment of acne, in spite of the various side effects associated with it. Ozone therapy presents itself as a safe, effective, non-invasive and low-cost alternative, although its use is still very limited in dermatology due to the lack of studies. The present work consists of a literature review on the effectiveness and safety of ozone therapy in the treatment of acne. | pt_PT |
