Abstract(s)
O presente trabalho final de mestrado teve como objetivo a criação de um espaço mais estimulante e propício às necessidades e interesses das crianças, numa sala de creche.
A investigação procurou responder a três questões fundamentais: Qual o impacto da organização do espaço no desenvolvimento das crianças? Que estratégias podem ser implementadas para otimizar o espaço educativo? Quais são as mudanças observadas após a implementação das intervenções?
Para alcançar os objetivos propostos, foram utilizadas diversas técnicas de recolha de dados, incluindo observação direta, notas de campo, registos fotográficos e entrevistas à educadora, complementadas pelo instrumento ECERS-R (Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale-Revised). Estas ferramentas permitiram uma avaliação abrangente e detalhada dos efeitos das intervenções realizadas.
As principais áreas de melhoria focaram-se na acessibilidade dos materiais, na promoção da interação social, na organização das atividades e no estímulo ao desenvolvimento cognitivo e socioemocional das crianças. Entre os resultados mais significativos, destacam-se a melhor exposição e acessibilidade dos materiais relacionados com as crianças, a reconfiguração do mobiliário para facilitar os cuidados de rotina, brincadeiras e aprendizagens, e a adaptação do espaço às necessidades e interesses das crianças.
Esta investigação revelou a importância de uma organização espacial cuidadosa e dinâmica, capaz de proporcionar experiências significativas e enriquecedoras para as crianças. A investigação não só contribuiu para a melhoria do ambiente educativo, mas também reforçou a prática pedagógica baseada na observação atenta e na adaptação constante às necessidades das crianças.
Assim, este trabalho evidencia o impacto positivo que a organização do espaço pode ter no desenvolvimento das crianças, destacando a necessidade de intervenções intencionais e bem planeadas para criar um ambiente de aprendizagem mais acolhedor e eficaz.
The present master's thesis aimed to create a more stimulating and conducive space to meet the needs and interests of children in a daycare room. The research sought to answer three fundamental questions: What is the impact of space organization on children's development? What strategies can be implemented to optimize the educational space? What are the observed changes after the implementation of interventions? To achieve the proposed objectives, various data collection techniques were used, including direct observation, field notes, photographic records, and interviews with the educator, complemented by the ECERS-R (Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale-Revised) instrument. These tools allowed for a comprehensive and detailed assessment of the effects of the interventions carried out. The main areas of improvement focused on the accessibility of materials, the promotion of social interaction, the organization of activities, and the stimulation of children's cognitive and socioemotional development. Among the most significant results, better exposure and accessibility of child-related materials, the reconfiguration of furniture to facilitate routine care, play, and learning, and the adaptation of the space to the needs and interests of the children stand out. This research revealed the importance of careful and dynamic spatial organization, capable of providing meaningful and enriching experiences for children. The investigation not only contributed to the improvement of the educational environment but also reinforced the pedagogical practice based on careful observation and constant adaptation to children's needs. Thus, this work highlights the positive impact that space organization can have on children's development, emphasizing the need for intentional and well-planned interventions to create a more welcoming and effective learning environment.
