Abstract(s)
Endodontic treatment has a high success rate. And this success depends on several factors: the presence of fractures, the size of the lesion, instrumentation technique, quality of the irrigator and filling technique, summing up the skill of the professional. In a first option of endodontic failure, a non-surgical endodontic retreatment is performed. When this endodontic retreatment fails, endodontic microsurgery can still be performed, nowadays it is a technique that has a high success rate – 89 to 100%, this rate becomes high when it is performed with the aid of the operating microscope, ultrasound and bioceramic materials to perform retrograde filling. This advancement and continuous improvement in relation to endodontics, in its techniques, materials and instruments, result in fewer failures, but, together with this, the need for a qualified professional to perform the procedure with quality. In the area of endodontics, technology has added a lot of value, bringing three dimensional images (CBCT), a real view of the dental element, which is not the case with two-dimensional image, through a CBCT and with a computer program it is possible to observe and making a 3D guide. Thus, a literature review was carried out with a space that focuses on the last 10 years, using databases such as PubMed, Scielo, Lilacs, Journal of Endodontics, using keywords related to the theme.
