Abstract(s)
Neste trabalho pretende-se mostrar que os espaços verdes em meio urbano desempenham múltiplas e diversas as funções desde a contribuição para a preservação da biodiversidade, à aproximação da população à natureza, promovendo, desta forma, a saúde e bem-estar.
É importante realçar que o sucesso e o bom funcionamento de um espaço verde, prende‐se fundamentalmente com o êxito de três fases distintas: o projeto, a obra e a manutenção. Um projeto bem elaborado, assim como a sua correta implementação e gestão/manutenção, conferem ao espaço público urbano, sustentabilidade e dinâmica. Sustentabilidade que é capaz de satisfazer as necessidades do presente sem comprometer a capacidade das gerações futuras satisfazerem as suas próprias.
Para além de se realçar a importância dos Espaços Verdes o presente trabalho visa a criação de um manual de manutenção para os Espaços Verdes do município com o objetivo de melhorar os mesmos, servindo de guia aos operadores que neles trabalham.
Verificou-se que as operações de manutenção nem sempre são as mais corretas nem realizadas da melhor maneira. De entre as diversas operações de manutenção ao nível dos espaços verdes do Município de Alter do Chão destacam-se as que estão relacionadas com as espécies arbóreas, principalmente as podas e a instalação e manutenção dos relvados.
This document aims to show that green spaces in urban areas play multiple and diverse functions, from the contribution to the preservation of biodiversity, and the approach of people to nature, promoting health and well-being. It’s important to highlight that the success and the proper functioning of a green space, depends mainly from the success of three distinct phases: project design, construction and maintenance. A well-designed project and its correct implementation and management / maintenance, give the urban public area, dynamics and sustainability. Sustainability that is able to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own. In addition to highligh the importance of green areas, this work aims to create a maintenance manual for the Alter do Chão municipality with the purpose to improve this task, serving as a guide to operators who work in it. It was found that the maintenance in Alter do Chão municipality green areas is not always the most correct or performed the best way. It stands out those related to tree species, especially pruning and the installation and maintenance of lawns.
