Abstract(s)
cliente (Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, 2023).
desenvolvido no bloco operatório central, dirigido à pessoa submetida a mastectomia radical
This report, drawn up as part of the Master's Degree in Medical-Surgical Nursing, in the area of specialization in Nursing for People in Perioperative Situations, aims to document the path of learning and analytical-reflective thinking, carried out in order to acquire and develop advanced skills, with a focus on human responses to health problems and the life processes of people undergoing invasive procedures, with the intention of highlighting the contribution of nursing care to the population's health gains. Quality in health, and more specifically the issue of quality metrics that are sensitive to the professional actions of nurses, was the compass that guided this journey. More than just numerical indicators, metrics are strategic tools for identifying areas of excellence and areas for improvement, enabling the implementation of measures to optimize the quality of care and promote client safety (Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, 2023). As part of the professional internship, two case studies were carried out, one in the central operating theatre, aimed at a person undergoing a modified radical mastectomy on an inpatient basis, and the other in the outpatient surgery unit, aimed at a person undergoing a partial mastectomy on an outpatient basis, which materialize the dialectic between theory and practice and reflect nursing thinking and the intentionality of professional action. These cases were developed on the e4Nursing platform, which is geared towards the process of designing nursing care, with a construction based on the clinical decision-making process and a structure based on the Nursing Ontology. Despite the consolidated support of scientific evidence regarding the importance of producing, implementing and monitoring quality indicators for the visibility and evaluation of nurses' professional actions, there is still a long way to go in terms of translating the results into practice, with an impact on health policies.
