Este relatório surge no âmbito da unidade curricular Projeto/Estágio do 2º Curso de Mestrado em Enfermagem Perioperatória (MEPO), da Escola Superior de Saúde do Instituto Politécnico de Setúbal (ESS-IPS), nos anos letivos de 2017/2018 e 2018/2019. O mesmo é resultado do trabalho desenvolvido e do Projeto de Intervenção em Serviço em contexto de estágio no Bloco Operatório (BO) num hospital privado da região da Grande Lisboa. O relatório demonstra não só o trabalho desenvolvido em estágio, sob a metodologia de projeto de um problema identificado no contexto, como também a reflexão das aprendizagens teórico-práticas e competências de investigação e de enfermagem perioperatória adquiridas ao longo do curso.
Identificou-se uma problemática nos enfermeiros perioperatórios quanto as medidas de proteção radiológica corretas durante uma braquiterapia prostática, por desconhecimento dos riscos inerentes, da própria técnica e a sua envolvência. Surgindo assim a ideia deste projeto, a criação de uma Norma de Proteção Radiológica na Técnica de Braquiterapia Prostática em ambiente perioperatório.
Esta Norma foi construída tendo como base uma revisão integrativa da literatura e através de medições radiológicas em diversos pontos críticos durante a execução da técnica. Resultando da interpretação destes dados e informações da revisão integrativa de literatura adquiridas, foi, então, possível identificar quais as medidas de proteção radiológica mais adequadas para os profissionais perioperatórios durante a técnica de braquiterapia prostática. A construção de uma Norma de segurança, juntamente com a divulgação adequada da mesma, permite a atualização de conhecimento, aumento da consciencialização e orientação de práticas e ainda a prevenção de complicações e promoção da saúde dos profissionais perioperatórios.
This report is based on curricular unit Project / Internship of the 2nd Masters Course in Perioperative Nursing (MEPO), of the School of Health of Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal (ESS-IPS), in the 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 school years. The same is the result of the work developed and the In-Service Intervention Project in the context of the Operating Room internship in a private hospital of the great Lisbon region. The report intends to demonstrate the work done in internship under the project methodology of a problem identified in the context. It also aims to demonstrate the theoretical and practical learning of research/ investigation and perioperative nursing and reflection of the skills acquired throughout the course. The problem identified was with perioperative nurses and radiological protection measures in the technique of prostate brachytherapy for lack of knowledge and were little alert about the measures and the technique itself. Thus, the scope of this project is to make perioperative professionals (namely perioperative nurses) aware of the inherent risks and to create a Radiological Protection Standard for perioperative professionals in the technique of prostate brachytherapy. This Standard was build based on an integrative literature review and through radiological measurements at several critical points during the execution of the technique. As a result of the interpretation of these data and information acquired from the integrative literature review, it was then possible to identify which radiological protection measures were most suitable for perioperative professionals during the prostatic brachytherapy technique. The construction of a Safety Standard, together with its proper divulgation, allows for the updating of knowledge, increased awareness and guidance of practices, as well as the prevention of complications and the promotion of the health of perioperative professionals.
