Abstract(s)
A Polícia de Segurança Pública tem um papel importante na prevenção da
criminalidade e na redução do sentimento de insegurança. Mas a segurança é uma
responsabilidade partilhada, e nesse sentido, a Polícia de Segurança Pública implementou o
seu Programa Integrado de Policiamento de Proximidade, que lhe permite uma maior
aproximação à comunidade que serve, dando destaque à pró-actividade em detrimento da
reactividade. Ora, a recolha de informações é hoje uma exigência da actividade policial e a
adopção do Predictive Policing, em complemento ao modelo de proximidade, permitirá à
Polícia de Segurança Pública obter vantagens operacionais nomeadamente, uma melhor
prevenção, por lhe permitir colocar os meios certos, no local certo e no momento certo.
The Public Security Police has an important role in crime prevention and reducing the insecurity feeling. But security is a shared responsibility, and based on that, the Public Security Police implemented its Integrated Program Proximity Policing, which allows a closer approach to the community that it serves, emphasizing the pro-active instead of reactive. However, the collection of information is now a requirement of police activity and the adoption of the Predictive Policing, in addition to the proximity model, will allow the Public Security Police gain operational advantages, including better prevention, by putting the right means, in the right place at the right time.
