Abstract(s)
contexto do trabalho.
A partir
For a long time, the problem linked to inequality in financial income has aroused the interests of the various sectors of social studies. In particular, gender inequality has been occupying more and more space in the debate and becoming one of the central points of these discussions. The gender pay gap goes back to the beginning of the history of mankind, since women have always been seen as having a much lower workforce than men, thus being not valued in the way they should. Currently, this scenario has been minimized, but it still lingers, with women still occupying very few managerial positions, that is, they are not able to achieve a hierarchical escalation as effective as men. A scenario of wage inequality between genders can then lead to numerous consequences for the company, for managers, for employees, as well as for society in general. Based on this, the study in question aims to identify the consequences that gender pay inequality can cause in the context of work. To this end, an exploratory and descriptive research was carried out, in order to determine, through a structured interview, the main consequences of wage inequality between genders for three generations (millenials, X, baby boomers). From the study it was possible to determine that the main consequences cited are: demotivation of collaborators, emergence of occupational diseases of a psychological nature (stress, depression, anxiety disorder, panic syndrome), reduced productivity, as well as prejudice against the women.
