Abstract(s)
O processo de autonomia de vida tem vindo a ser motivo de preocupação por parte de
profissionais, decisores e académicos, tendo em conta a necessidade de se garantir um
processo de transição por parte dos jovens para uma vida adulta, capaz de demonstrar
efetivamente a autonomização e com todos os aspetos que a mesma contempla. De modo
muito concreto, e porque os jovens em contexto de acolhimento residencial vivenciam
experiências diferenciadas, necessitam então que este mesmo processo de transição seja
preparado de forma consistente e que vá de encontro às suas reais necessidades.
Neste sentido, com o objetivo de compreender se as casas de acolhimento residencial têm
previstos instrumentos de preparação para a autonomia de vida dos jovens e qual o
impacto que esses têm na vida dos jovens, levamos a cabo um estudo de investigação, no
qual, recorremos ao método qualitativo, com recurso à técnica de entrevista.
Participaram nesta investigação onze técnicos que têm prática profissional em casas de
acolhimento em contexto nacional. Os resultados indicam que há um investimento na
preparação da autonomia de vida dos jovens antes da sua efetiva autonomização.
Todavia, não existe um programa consistente e definido, que contemple as áreas
fundamentais para o treino de competências de autonomia de vida (cozinha, higiene;
transportes; educação, integração profissional, gestão económica e financeira, lúdica e
cultural, autoimagem, autoestima, identidade e competências para a vida).
Deste modo, os resultados recolhidos vêm demonstrar a necessidade da implementação
de um programa específico e estruturado e validado cientificamente que efetivamente
possa promover nos jovens acolhidos aquisições/aprendizagens fundamentais no treino de
autonomia de vida, para a concretização efetiva da autonomização dos mesmos após a
saída das casas de acolhimento.
The process of life autonomy has been a cause for concern for many professionals, decision makers and academics, considering the need to guarantee a transition process on the part of young people to an adult life, capable of effectively demonstrating effectively the process of autonomy and with all the aspects that if contemplates. In a very concrete way, and because young people in a residential care context have different experiences, they therefore need this same transition process is prepared in a consistent way and to meet their real needs. In terms of the method applied, we used the qualitative method, using interviews with open questions. This investigation counted with the participation of eleven technicians who have professional practice in home residential care in a national context. The results indicate that there is an investment in preparing young people´s lives for their autonomy before the transition itself. However, there is no consistent and defined program that covers the fundamental areas for the training of life autonomy skills (cooking, hygiene, means of transportation, education, professional integrations, economic and financial management, leisure and cultural, self-image, self- esteem, identity and life skills). Therefore, the results collected demonstrate the need to implement a specific, structured and scientifically validated program that can effectively promote fundamental acquisitions/learning in the training of life autonomy in young residents, for the effective achievement of their autonomy after leaving the home residential care.
