Abstract(s)
do efetivo.
The Public Security Police was the first Security Force in Portugal to recruit women, and their integration, although difficult, has evolved positively, currently occupying diversified functions in all professional categories, with progression perspectives equal to the male police officers. These factors and the nobility of the mission should make the profession more attractive, however, women represent only 10.44% of the workforce. Thus, we intend to understand the possible relationship between the lack of attractiveness and the motivations and experiences of these women, as well as the organizational climate regarding gender issues and possible asymmetries, identifying and prioritizing areas in need of intervention, through the creation of an Equality Plan. To this end, we analyzed statistics, surveys, literature and PSP strategic documents. The results show that gender equality is a theme under development, although there is a positive and equal perception, it is necessary to implement improvement measures regarding data collection, work-family conciliation, infrastructures, targeted recruitment and harassment in the workplace.
