O objecto de investigação do presente estudo centra-se na aferição e exploração do sentimento de autoridade dos elementos policiais. Com este estudo procuraremos responder à seguinte pergunta de partida: Será que os elementos policiais sentem que a sua autoridade é suficiente e respeitada?
Procurar-se-á com a presente Dissertação a análise dos motivos que fazem influenciar o fenómeno do exercício da autoridade, nomeadamente qual a relação que se estabelece com a motivação. Este estudo tem um suporte teórico essencial, remetendo ainda para a aplicação da técnica do inquérito ao universo de duas esquadras policiais seleccionadas, tendo em conta os contextos sociais em que estão inseridas.
Neste tema tão sensível e importante pretendemos contribuir para uma nova reflexão e constatação de factos que terão os devidos efeitos e aplicabilidade no desenvolvimento dos estudos da nossa instituição.
The object of this present investigation focus on the gauging and exploration of the feelings of authority directed towards police officers. With this study we will seek to answer the following question: Do police officers feel that their authority is sufficient and respected? With this present study we will seek to determine the motives that influence the use of authority, especially what relation can be established with motivation. This study is supported by an essential theoretical background, having also conducted an inquiry on two police stations, selected on the basis of the social contexts in which they are inserted. We intent to contribute with a new reflection and comprehension of the facts that make up this very important and sensitive subject, hoping that they will prove a useful basis for future studies on our institution.
