| dc.description.abstract | The evolution of IT innovations has a rich history, contributing to and influencing the accounting practice over the years. This is an area of research that gains importance over the years with the exponential growth of technologies facilitating an evolution of how accounting professionals work, and how firms can cut costs and become overall more efficient in their workflow. Although there is an extensive study and works on the history and development of accounting in Portugal, no such work has yet been done on the development and application of IT innovations in financial accounting in Portugal throughout the years. This work contains a literature review that encompasses the broad development in accounting over the years, to facilitate the comprehension of the spectrum of technologies available for accounting services. Through a systematic literature review, extracting information through text and document analysis in works regarding the subject this study aims to discover the number of studies that have been made in Portugal regarding technological development in accounting over the years, how Portugal fairs in technological development when compared with other countries, what is next in technological development in the field of accounting, and if Portugal is already studying these themes. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | A evolução de inovações do foro informático detém uma história rica que contribui e influencia a prática da contabilidade ao longo dos anos. Esta área de investigação ganhou importância ao longo dos anos com o crescimento exponencial de tecnologias que facilitam a evolução do modo de trabalho do contabilista, influenciando também a possibilidades das firmas poderem cortar custos e tornarem os seus processos mais eficientes. Apesar de existir um estudo extensivo e variados trabalhos científicos sobre a história e desenvolvimento da contabilidade em Portugal, ainda nenhum trabalho existe com foco na linha histórica de desenvolvimento e inovação das tecnologias de informação aplicadas à contabilidade. Este estudo consiste numa revisão de literatura que engloba o vasto desenvolvimento na contabilidade de modo a facilitar a compreensão do espectro de tecnologias disponíveis para serviços de contabilidade. Através de uma revisão sistemática da literatura, foi extraída informação por análise de textos e documentos relacionados com o tema em estudo. Pretende-se descobrir a quantidade de estudos que foram efetuados em Portugal associados ao desenvolvimento tecnológico ao longo dos anos, como Portugal se compara com os restantes países nesse desenvolvimento tecnológico, o que virá futuramente de desenvolvimentos tecnológicos na área da contabilidade, e se Portugal já se encontra a efetuar esses estudos. | pt_PT |
