Abstract(s)
A desumanização da ação armada, estimulada pela crescente utilização de sistemas de armas operados remotamente, constitui uma nova realidade que pode alterar o paradigma da conflitualidade tal como a conhecemos. Este trabalho tem o propósito de analisar a influência que a desumanização pode ter na promoção daquela alteração, procurando clarificar o caminho que está a ser seguido, analisando numa primeira fase a forma como se revela a desumanização da ação armada em consequência do combate operado remotamente e, numa segunda fase, analisar a tendência de evolução da ação armada por influência da desumanização.
Através de um procedimento que alternou entre a revisão bibliográfica e a execução de entrevistas, foi reunido um conjunto de informação ajustado ao tema.
Da análise efetuada é possível concluir que o combate operado remotamente, afasta o humano do combate direto, como combatente e como decisor, realidade que é suficientemente reveladora da existência de um processo de desumanização da ação armada que é hoje mais urbanizada e tecnologicamente mais sofisticada.
Como principal conclusão deste trabalho pode-se afirmar que a desumanização, apesar de influenciar a ação armada, não originou, até ao momento, uma rotura significativa na forma como a mesma é efetuada.
The dehumanization of armed action, stimulated by the growing use of remotely operated weapon systems, constitutes a new reality which may change the conflict paradigm as we know it. The aim of this paper is to analyse the influence that dehumanisation may have in promoting this change, seeking to clarify the path which is being followed, analysing in a first phase how the dehumanisation of armed action reveals itself because of combat at a distance and, in a second phase, the evolutionary trend of armed action due to the influence of dehumanisation. Through a dynamic procedure that alternated between a bibliographical review and the conduction of interviews, a collection of information in line with the matter at hand was gathered. From the performed analysis it is possible to conclude that remote combat promotes virtual conflict, removing the human being from direct combat, as a combatant and as a decision-maker. The main conclusion of this work is the statement that dehumanisation, despite influencing armed action, has not so far originated a significant rupture in the way it is conducted.
