Abstract(s)
O presente estudo tem por objetivo analisar as motivações que influenciam o desempenho por parte dos colaboradores da Indústria Hoteleira, de modo a perceber o seu impacto, e de que forma pode ser visto como vantagem para o setor. A realização deste estudo implicou a utilização de metodologia mista, no que diz respeito à metodologia quantitativa, foram administrados questionários a uma amostra de 413 indivíduos, colaboradores e futuros colaboradores da Indústria Hoteleira cujos dados recolhidos foram analisados com recurso a software estatístico, SPSS. No que refere à metodologia qualitativa, foram realizadas 6 entrevistas semiestruturadas, a indivíduos em funções na Indústria Hoteleira, tendo em consideração o balanceamento de género, no perfil da amostra. Com este estudo, foi possível compreender de que forma os colaboradores da Indústria Hoteleira percebem a motivação, compreender o impacto que provoca no desempenho dos colaboradores, e o consenso existente com a revisão de literatura do estado da arte do setor. O estudo acrescenta valor aos estudos já existentes, acrescentando um contributo pela razão de terem sido referidas novas variáveis que diz respeito a aspetos a ter em consideração no processo de motivação por parte dos colaboradores da indústria hoteleira, e que por sua vez, podem ser vistas como aspetos motivacionais, para fortalecer a retenção no setor.
The aim of this study is to analyse the motivations that influence the performance of Hotel Industry employees, in order to understand their impact and how they can be seen as an advantage for the sector.This study involved the use of a mixed methodology: with regard to quantitative methodology, questionnaires were administered to a sample of 413 individuals, employees and future employees of the Hotel Industry, and the data collected was analysed using SPSS statistical software. With regard to the qualitative methodology, 6 semi-structured interviews were carried out with individuals working in the Hotel Industry, taking into account the gender balance in the sample profile.With this study, it was possible to understand how employees in the Hotel Industry perceive motivation, to understand the impact it has on employee performance, and the existing consensus with the literature review of the state of the art in the sector.The study adds value to existing studies, making a contribution because new variables have been mentioned that relate to aspects to be taken into consideration in the process of motivation by employees in the hotel industry, and which in turn can be seen as motivational aspects to strengthen retention in the sector.
