O presente projeto foca-se no desenvolvimento e reconstrução dos módulos de análise de dados (Business Intelligence and Analytics - BIA) para as áreas de gestão de projetos, indicadores e financeira/tesouraria, sendo estas as áreas cruciais a necessitar urgentemente no contexto do Arsenal do Alfeite, que desempenha um papel fulcral na manutenção e reparação de navios e equipamentos navais, em especial da marinha portuguesa. Este projeto surge da necessidade de modernizar e melhorar os processos de análise de dados, ultrapassando as limitações do sistema existente e promovendo uma abordagem mais eficiente e orientada para a tomada de decisões fundamentadas. Sendo que atualmente o Arsenal do Alfeite passa por uma fase de transição de tecnologias, tais como Oracle Forms, Adf e Reports, tecnologias essas que se encontram desatualizada, para uma tecnologia mais recente, o Oracle Apex, estando na fase ideal para começar o projeto. A base deste trabalho parte do reconhecimento de que a organização já dispõe de um módulo de análise de dados previamente implementado. Contudo, este módulo enfrenta desafios significativos relacionados com a sua funcionalidade, adaptabilidade e capacidade de resposta às necessidades atuais dos funcionários, fazendo-se notar na falta de utilização dos mesmos, e do ponto de vista da gestão e manutenção, pois a equipa tinha de suportar 3 tecnologias distintas. Num ambiente onde a tomada de decisão é crucial para o cumprimento de prazos, alocação eficiente de recursos e gestão de indicadores de desempenho, é imprescindível que os processos de análise de dados sejam robustos, dinâmicos e alinhados com as melhores práticas, visto que muitas destas análises vão ditar o futuro da empresa. Desta forma, o objetivo principal deste projeto é redesenhar os módulos BIA, desenvolvendo uma solução inovadora e ajustada às especificidades do Arsenal do Alfeite. Este novo sistema será concebido para fornecer informações relevantes de forma acessível, facilitando uma análise ao pormenor do estado atual da empresa em diversas áreas, analisadas com diversas métricas. A proposta visa também garantir que os dados disponibilizados sejam moldados, limpos e transformados em informação que leva ao conhecimento. O Arsenal do Alfeite conta com uma base de dados com mais de 30 anos, sendo importante estudar esses mesmos dados para que se possa prever acontecimentos futuros e evitar erros passados, fornecendo assim um suporte mais sólido à tomada de decisões.
This project focuses on the development and reconstruction of the Business Intelligence and Analytics (BIA) modules for the areas of project management, key performance indicators, and finance/treasury. These are the crucial areas that urgently need a "reform" in the context of Arsenal do Alfeite, a company with a key role in the maintenance and repair of ships and naval equipment, especially for the Portuguese Navy. This project arises from the need to modernize and improve data analysis processes, overcoming the limitations of the existing system and promoting a more efficient approach oriented towards informed decision-making. Currently, Arsenal do Alfeite is undergoing a transition from outdated technologies, such as Oracle Forms, ADF, and Reports, to a more recent technology, Oracle Apex, and is at the ideal phase to start this project. The foundation of this work stems from the recognition that the organization already has a previously implemented data analysis module. However, this module faces significant challenges related to its functionality, adaptability, and responsiveness to the current needs of employees, evidenced by its low usage. From a management and maintenance perspective, the team had to support three distinct technologies. In an environment where decision-making is crucial for meeting deadlines, efficiently allocating resources, and managing performance indicators, it is essential that data analysis processes are robust, dynamic, and aligned with best practices, as many of these analyses will shape the future of the company. Thus, the main objective of this thesis is to redesign the BIA modules, developing an innovative solution tailored to the specifics of Arsenal do Alfeite. This new system will be designed to provide relevant information in an accessible way, facilitating detailed analysis of the current state of the company across various areas, analyzed with diverse metrics. The proposal also aims to ensure that the data provided is shaped, cleaned, and transformed into information that leads to knowledge. Given that Arsenal has a database over 20 years old, it is important to study this data to predict future events and avoid past mistakes, thus providing more solid support for decision-making.
