Abstract(s)
Assim, a extroversão e
Although leadership is a recurring theme today, it is still a phenomenon that requires deepening and constant updating. If we join this phenomenon with personality psychology, everything becomes more interesting and challenging. Combining the two themes, it is possible to see how the personality influences leadership, both at the competence level as well as in the satisfaction and efforts that it produces. This research begins with the literature review, focusing on the topic of leadership and the five-factor model, better known as the Big Five. Through the literature review it has become possible to select the most appropriate means for research. In the practical part, the quantitative methodology was followed, using the Rouco Competence Model (2012) and the Big Five Inventory. The questionnaires were then applied to the sample, which consisted of 65 of the 101 militaries of the Special Operations Intervention Group. After analyzing the data it is concluded that there are dimensions of the Big Five that relate positively and negatively to leadership. Thus, extroversion and conscientiousness at high levels are related to leadership, as well as neuroticism at low levels. In short, this research provides empirical material through which the selection process for the graduates of the Special Operations Intervention Group can be improved and thus contribute to a more effective leadership within the Group.
