Abstract(s)
Objective: to describe the intervention of the EEER in rehabilitation nursing care for patients with a respiratory ostomy, critically and reflectively analyze experiences, favoring self- knowledge and personal development. Methodology: implementation of a professional inter- vention project based on a literature review, contributing to the continuous improvement of the quality of nursing care, on the EEE Intervention for the patient with a respiratory ostomy, in the process of decannulation and closure of the tracheostomy, based on the reference theorist by Patricia Benner. Analysis and discussion: we found that it is essential for the EEER to de- velop skills to care for the patient with a tracheostomy, as evidenced by Outeiro e Soares, 2021, as a guarantee of safety and reduction of unnecessary harm. Santa-Cruz et al. 2020, describe the decannulation process as complex and dependent on many factors. The EEER evaluates and draws up intervention plans that enhance the person's capacity, in order to start this process early. Conclusion: the EEER has specific skills, intervening skillfully and perti- nently, promoting quality nursing care. The gains are notorious, revealing themselves in the empowerment of the person's self-care, allowing them maximum independence. In the process of decannulation and closure of the tracheostomy, it is an essential element, due to the auton- omous interventions that the area of competence confers on it.
