O presente estudo qualitativo surgiu perante a necessidade de agir face à crise de valores que se faz sentir nos dias de hoje. Este estudo tem como objetivo principal compreender o modo como são transmitidos valores às crianças, bem como o papel da família e da escola diante de tal tarefa. A investigação foi realizada com base em recolha documental e testemunhos reais de sujeitos que sentimos serem benéficos para o estudo. Optámos por estes dois métodos de recolha de informação, com o intuito de nos basearmos em histórias e experiências reais, ao mesmo tempo que suportadas por autores de referência.
Ao longo do estudo irão ser apresentados conceitos fundamentais, como valores, família e escola, enquadrados nos seus campos de análise concretos, recorrendo a entrevistas de agentes educativos que comprovam o ponto de vista conceptual que serviu de ponto de partida para o enquadramento teórico do tema.
Toda a investigação decorreu com o intuito de responder às seguintes perguntas de investigação: "Qual o papel da escola e da família perante a educação para valores?"; "Qual a realidade atual da educação para valores?"; "Qual o desafio do professor face à realidade atual?"
Ficou comprovado que a família e a escola são instituições fundamentais na transmissão dos valores, embora a crise de valores nas famílias transfira cada vez mais para a escola a responsabilidade da educação para valores.
This qualitative study came to exist before the need to take action in face of the crisis of values that is felt nowadays. Its main purpose is to understand how values are transmitted to children as well as the role of family and school before such a task. The research was based on documentary collection and real testimonies of individuals who we felt were beneficial to the study. We have chosen these two methods of gathering information in order to build on in real stories and experiences, while supported by reference authors. Throughout the study fundamental concepts will be presented, such as values, family and school, framed in their specific fields of analysis, using educators’ interviews that demonstrate the conceptual point of view that was the starting point for the theoretical framework of the theme. All of the research took place in order to answer the following research questions: "What is the role of school and family towards the education for values?"; "What is the current reality of education for values?"; "What is the challenge of the teacher in face of the current reality?" It was demonstrated that family and school are key institutions in the transmission of values, although the crisis of values in families increasingly transfers to the school the responsibility of education for values.
