O presente relatório enquadra-se no âmbito do Curso de Mestrado em Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica na área de especialização em Enfermagem à Pessoa em Situação Perioperatória da Escola Superior de Saúde Santa Maria / Escola Superior de Enfermagem de São José de Cluny, tendo como objetivo principal relatar a aquisição das competências comuns e específicas do enfermeiro especialista em Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica na área de cuidado à Pessoa em Situação Perioperatória, assim como as competências de Mestre em Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica.
Os ensinos clínicos decorreram numa Unidade de Cirurgia de Ambulatório e num Bloco Operatório Central, sendo descrita ao longo do relatório, de forma crítica e refletiva, as vivências e experiências que contribuíram para a aquisição das competências comuns e específicas do enfermeiro especialista neste contexto perioperatório.
Como referencial teórico à prestação de cuidados no contexto da prática clínica especializada foi escolhida a Teoria das Transições desenvolvida por Afaf Meleis.
Do mesmo modo, irá igualmente ser abordada a temática desenvolvida durante os estágios acerca da intervenção do Enfermeiro Especialista em Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica – Enfermagem à Pessoa em Situação Perioperatória no que respeita ao manuseamento de implantes cirúrgicos, particularmente em cirurgia de artroplastia da anca e do joelho, realizando uma revisão integrativa da literatura, no sentido de apresentar o estado da arte acerca do manuseamento de implantes e da intervenção, nomeadamente do enfermeiro especialista na função de enfermeiro instrumentista no que respeita ao controlo e prevenção da infeção do local cirúrgico.
Deste relatório irá resultar a evidência de que foram adquiridas e aperfeiçoadas competências especializadas essenciais para uma prestação de cuidados especializados de qualidade e segurança à pessoa em situação perioperatória, assim como competências de Mestre em Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica.
This report falls within the scope of the Master’s Course in Medical-Surgical Nursing in the area of specialization of Nursing for People in Perioperative Situations of the Escola Superior de Saúde Santa Maria / Escola Superior de Enfermagem de São José de Cluny, having as the main objective the acquisition of common and specific competencies of the Specialist Nurse in Medical-Surgical Nursing when caring for people in Perioperative Situations, as well as the skills of a Master in Medical-Surgical Nursing. The clinical placements took place in an Outpatient Surgery Unit and in a Central Operating Room, being portrayed throughout the report, in a critical and reflective way, the experiences that contributed to the acquisition of common and specific skills of specialist nurses in this perioperative context. As a theoretical framework for the provision of care in the context of specialized clinical practice, it was chosen the Transitions Theory developed by Afaf Meleis. Likewise, the subject developed during the internships regarding the intervention of the Specialist Nurse in Medical-Surgical Nursing – Nursing for People in a Perioperative Situation will also be addressed with regard to the handling of surgical implants, particularly in knee and hip arthroplasty surgery, carrying out an integrative review of the literature, in order to present the state of the art on the handling of implants and its intervention, namely of the specialist nurse in the role of instrumentalist nurse to control and prevent infection in the surgical site. This report provides evidence that essential specialized skills for delivering quality and safe care to individuals in a perioperative situation have been acquired and enhanced, along with the mastery of skills expected from a Medical-Surgical Nursing Master.
