Abstract(s)
Abordamos, ainda, neste trabalho as atividades implementadas com a finalidade
isolamento social.
The increase of the number of elderlies is a visible reality in Portugal and the World, resulting from the rise in the average life expectancy. Aging brings with it some disturbing aspects such as social isolation and loneliness that affect the quality of life of this age group. Therefore, it is necessary to look for answers that guarantee healthy aging for the population. This report describes the internship experience at Porto.Importa-se that has as main objective combat social isolation in older adults living in social housing, managed by Domus Social, in accordance with the selection criteria (isolated with 70 or over and/or couples aged 75 or over). In order to survey social and housing needs, a questionnaire survey was applied to the respondents who made up the sample. To collect this data, attention was paid to the ethical purposes that guide the intervention, to safeguard the information collected. From the data collected, it was possible to conclude that more than half of the respondents are at risk of social isolation. Of the 163 surveys carried out, it was found that 97 individuals live alone and 71 say they feel alone. In this work, we also address the activities implemented with the purpose of filling certain gaps identified during the internship and whose ultimate objective is to guarantee better intervention and subsequently combat social isolation.
