Abstract(s)
O Petróleo é o principal combustível utilizado mundialmente, representando 34,2% do consumo total de energia global. O consumo energético global ter como pilar os combustíveis fósseis, levanta várias questões relacionadas com as políticas energéticas e ambientais, o que por sua vez tem levado a grandes mudanças na indústria da refinação ao longo dos anos. A Galp Energia é o grupo português com mais experiência no setor energético, sendo detentora da Refinaria de Sines. O presente estágio teve a duração de 6 meses e foi desenvolvido na unidade de tratamento de água da Fábrica de Utilidades da Refinaria de Sines.
Com vista à otimização da operação da unidade de produção de água desmineralizada, foi efetuado o estudo da unidade de tratamento de água, a análise das variáveis críticas do processo, levadas a cabo atividades operacionais que possibilitaram o desenvolvimento fundamentado de 20 propostas de melhorias e 3 propostas de modificação do processo. Como trabalhos futuros sugere-se a aplicação da metodologia de Análise de Modos e Efeito de Falhas considerando conjuntamente todos os fatores/parâmetros que influenciam o processo de produção de água desmineralizada, inclusive os problemas de origem mecânica que interferem de forma determinante com o funcionamento da unidade.

Global energy consumption is based on fossil fuels raises several issues related to energy and environmental policies, which has led to big changes in the refining industry over the years. Galp Energia is the Portuguese group with the most experience in the energy sector, being the owner of the Refinaria de Sines. This internship lasted for 6 months and was developed at the water treatment plant of the Fábrica de Utilidades in Refinaria de Sines. In order to optimize the operation of the demineralised water production unit, the water treatment unit was examined, the critical variables of the process were analysed, and operational activities were carried out, which allowed the reasoned development of 20 improvement proposals and 3 proposals of process modification. As future work it is suggests the application of the methodology of Failure Mode & Effects Analysis considering all the factors or parameters that influence the process of production of demineralized water, including mechanical problems that has a decisive impact in the operation of the unit.
