Abstract(s)
Numa sociedade caracterizada por inúmeros conflitos sociais a importância da responsabilidade social tem vindo a ganhar um espaço privilegiado na persecução das estratégias empresariais. Neste sentido, a sensibilização dos públicos para um conjunto de problemas existentes nessa mesma sociedade torna-se vital para o que podemos apelidar de consciência social.
A participação na defesa de causas sociais é hoje mais do que uma preocupação, um dever do ser humano. A contribuição dos eventos desportivos para essa realidade é algo que queremos investigar para que possamos, de forma mais precisa, afirmar que os eventos desportivos são importantes para a difusão de uma mensagem solidária.
Por fim, e não menos importante, pretendeu-se avaliar a importância do patrocínio por parte das empresas intervenientes, pois são estas que sustentam grande parte dos eventos. Procuramos avaliar a razão pela qual as empresas apoiam causas sociais, questionando os retornos desta ligação.
Partindo desta análise, e tendo em conta a revisão de literatura realizada, foi possível analisar os dados recolhidos, dados esses que nos permitissem responder às hipóteses colocadas no início da dissertação.
Conseguimos obter conclusões deste estudo e constatar que os eventos de carácter social são um fenómeno com expressão no nosso país, utilizada por uma grande diversidade de promotores e empresas, incidindo nos mais diferentes temas sociais.
Como forma de dar continuidade a todo este trabalho, foi nosso propósito lançar novas pistas de reflexão sobre a relação entre os eventos desportivos na difusão e o exercício de cidadania. Acreditamos que um maior conhecimento desta vertente pode inspirar novas formas de agir no sentido da mudança social.
In a society characterized by many social conflicts the importance of social responsibility has been gaining a privileged ground when it comes to corporate strategies. Therefore, raising the public awareness for these types of problems in our society is vital for what we can call social conscience. Today taking part in the defence of social cause is more than a concern, it’s our duty as human beings. The contribution of sports events to this reality is something that we want to explore, so that we can state in a more accurate way that these types of events are important to promote a message of solidarity. Last but not less important, we intend to assess the importance of the sponsorship given by the participating companies, because they are the ones who support most of the events. We intend to assess the reason why companies support social causes, and to question the return of this connection. From this analysis, and taking into consideration a literature review, it was possible to analyse the collected data that would enable us to answer the situations mentioned in the beginning of the thesis. We were able to reach conclusions about this study and to realise that events with a social responsibility are an important phenomena in our country, which are used by a number of promoting agents and companies, and which concern a variety of social themes. In order to insure the continuity of this study, it was our aim to find lines of reflexion concerning the relationship between sports events and the exercise of citizenship. We believe that a greater knowledge of this theme may inspire new ways of acting towards social change.
