No âmbito do Curso de Mestrado em Enfermagem, na Área de Especialização em Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica: A Pessoa em Situação Crítica, o presente relatório reflete a análise reflexiva das atividades realizadas durante o percurso académico e da prática clínica nos estágios de enfermagem num Serviço de Urgência Geral e numaUnidade de Cuidados Intensivos.
Utilizando a metodologia de projeto descreve a implementação de um Projeto de Intervenção em Serviço com o objetivo de promover a segurança e a qualid ade dos cuidados de enfermagem à Pessoa em Situação Crítica com intubação traqueal na Unidade de Cuidados Intensivos.
A monitorização da pressão do cuff traqueal assume relevância na valorização da investigação e na recolha de evidência científica segundo o Modelo de Enfermagem da Prática Baseada em Evidência de June Larrabee (1999), com a elaboração de uma Revisão Sistemática da Literatura, a realização de uma sessão de formação em serviço e a atualização de uma norma de procedimento interna na UCI.
Corroborando a filosofia defendida no Modelo de Aquisição de Competências de Patrícia Benner (2001), as experiências pessoais e profissionais contribuíram para a aquisição e o desenvolvimento de competências de Enfermeiro Especialista na área de Especialização em Enfermagem Médico Cirúrgica: A Pessoa em Situação Crítica e de competências de Mestre em Enfermagem
Within the scope of the Specialization in Medical-Surgical Nursing: The Person in Critical Situation, this report reflects the reflexive analysis of the activities carried out during the academic journey and the clinical practice of the nursing internships in the General Emergency Service and Intensive Care Unit. Using the project methodology, it describes the implementation of an Intervention Project with theaim of promoting safety and quality of nursing care to the Person in Critical Situation with tracheal intubation at the Intensive Care Unit. Monitoring the pressure of the tracheal cuff assumes relevance in the valorization of research and collection of scientific evidence based on the Nursing Model of Evidence Based Practice of June Larrabee (1999) through the elaboration of an Systematic Literature Review, in the realization of a training session and in the updating of an internal standard procedure in the Intensive Care Unit. Corroborating the philosophy defended in the Acquisition Skills Model of Patrícia Benner, personal and professional experiences contributed to the acquisition of skills of Specialist Nurses, Specialist Nurse in the area of the Person in Critical Situation and Master of Nursing skills
