Este texto tem como foco a formação de professores de Matemática, em Portugal, no período entre 1937 e 1947, num dos liceus ligados à formação de professores, o liceu D. João III, em Coimbra. Para tal iniciar-se-á com uma breve explicação do funcionamento do sistema de formação inicial de professores nessa época para depois referir os trabalhos elaborados pelos professores estagiários, no âmbito do estágio, ao longo de cerca de 1 década: planos de aula, trabalhos temáticos, Ensaios Críticos. A análise centrar-se-á nos Ensaios Críticos, trabalho de grande importância para findar o Estágio Pedagógico. Através da pesquisa documental, nomeadamente legislação, arquivos do liceu e da universidade foi possível identificar os trabalhos realizados pelos professores estagiários de Matemática e a sua análise permite caraterizar parte da formação inicial de professores de Matemática da época. Os Ensaios Críticos estavam divididos em duas partes: a primeira de cariz teórico e a segunda continha os planos de aula relativos ao tema explorado na primeira parte. A primeira parte permite-nos perceber as temáticas que eram alvo de interesse e preocupação por parte dos professores supervisores dos estágios – o professor metodólogo - e a segunda parte permite-nos perceber a estrutura utilizada na época para planificação da aula.
This text focuses on the training of mathematics teachers, in Portugal, in the period between 1937 and 1947, in one of the high schools linked to the training of teachers, the high school D. João III, in Coimbra. To this end, we will start with a brief explanation of the functioning of the initial teacher training system at that time and then refer to the works developed by the trainee teachers, within the scope of the internship, over about 1 decade: lesson plans, assignments thematic, Critical Essays. The analysis will focus on Critical Essays, work of great importance to end the Pedagogical Internship. Through documentary research, namely legislation, high school and university archives, it was possible to identify the work carried out by mathematics trainee teachers and its analysis allows to characterize part of the initial training of mathematics teachers at the time. The Critical Essays were divided into two parts: the first of a theoretical nature and the second contained the lesson plans related to the theme explored in the first part. The first part allows us to understand the themes that were the target of interest and concern on the part of the supervisors of the internships – the methodological teacher - and the second part allows us to understand the structure used at the time for lesson planning.
