| dc.description.abstract | O objeto de estudo desta investigação é o Intelligence Preparation of the Battlefield (IPB) e os processos de automatização que o poderão apoiar. Através de uma metodologia de investigação científica qualitativa, assente num raciocínio indutivo, ao longo da presente investigação, analisou-se o IPB, procurando identificar-se em que passos e de que forma poderá ser introduzido algum tipo de automatismo, com a finalidade de melhorar a sua condução. Para tal, numa primeira fase através da análise ao processo do IPB identificaram-se lacunas e limitações à forma como é conduzido atualmente no Exército Português, tendo como as principais limitações a morosidade do processo e a sua subjetividade. Numa segunda fase analisou-se os Sistemas de Informação Geográfica (SIG), dando enfase à Informação Geográfica (IG) disponível bem como à forma como poderá ser utilizada em apoio ao IPB, permitindo identificar um conjunto de dados passíveis de ser utilizados, bem como aplicações que permitem apoiar o processo do IPB embora não diretamente. Por último apresentam-se algumas linhas de desenvolvimento para uma aplicação do Exército, o SIGOp, de modo a permitir que esta possa, num futuro próximo apoiar a realização dos produtos do IPB por qualquer utilizador, colmatando assim as limitações identificadas. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The object of this investigation is the Intelligence Preparation of the Battlefield and the automatization processes that can support it. Using a qualitative scientific research methodology, based on an inductive reasoning, throughout the present investigation, the IPB was analyzed, trying to identify in which steps and in what way some type of automatization could be possible to be introduced, with the purpose of improving its execution. To do it, in the first phase, through the analysis of the IPB process, limitations and gaps were identified in the way it is currently conducted in the Portuguese Army, with the main limitations being the slowness of the process and its subjectivity. On a second phase the GIS was analyzed, emphasizing the available GI as well as how it could be used in support of the IPB, allowing to identify a set of data that can be used, as well as applications that support the IPB process, although not directly. Finally, it presented some lines of development for an Army application, SIGOp, to allow it to give support in the near future to the realization of IPB products by any user, thus filling the identified limitations. | pt_PT |
