Abstract(s)
A COVID-19 é uma doença que foi identificada pela primeira vez a dezembro de
2019 na China, a qual teve um significativo impacto no turismo em geral, e na hotelaria
e eventos em particular.
O modo como a hotelaria ia sobreviver num período pós COVID-19 era algo que
ainda era desconhecido e por isso era necessário serem realizados estudos de caso de
hotéis com o objetivo de focar nos problemas causados pela COVID-19, como foi feito
na presente investigação.
A metodologia desta dissertação incluiu a análise das plataformas online de
comunicação dos hotéis, nomeadamente, websites e Instagram, dos 21 hotéis em análise,
mas também o inquérito por questionário, em que se obteve resposta de 15 hotéis.
Regendo-se pelo objetivo de descrever quais as práticas de reposicionamento
adotadas pelos hotéis da freguesia de Cascais e Estoril, para a área de eventos, em
consequência dos impactos da COVID-19 na procura, conclui-se que os hotéis
desenvolverem variadas práticas, tais como, fazer entregas ao domicílio, transformar
quartos em escritórios, oferecer estadias de longa duração e apostar no mercado nacional.

How the hospitality industry was going to survive in a post COVID-19 period was something that was still unknown and therefore case studies of hotels needed to be conducted in order to focus on the problems caused by COVID-19, as was done in the present study. The methodology of this dissertation included the analysis of the hotels' online communication platforms, namely, websites and Instagram, of the 21 hotels under analysis, but also the questionnaire survey, where a response was obtained from 15 hotels. Based on the objective of describing the repositioning practices adopted by hotels in the parish of Cascais and Estoril, in the events industry, as a consequence of the impact of COVID-19 on the demand, it was concluded that hotels have developed various practices such as making home deliveries, transforming rooms into offices, offering long stays and focusing on the national market.
