dc.description.abstract	A presente investigação insere-se no campo da História do Design em Portugal, abordando a invisibilidade das mulheres nas narrativas visuais dirigidas ao público infantojuvenil. Identifica-se uma lacuna persistente na representação de figuras femininas no Design Editorial infantojuvenil, contrastando com os contributos relevantes de várias designers portuguesas do século XX, com especial destaque para Maria Keil — figura pioneira do Design e da Ilustração em Portugal. Partindo deste diagnóstico, a investigação propõe o desenvolvi- mento de um livro ilustrado infantojuvenil enquanto instrumento de mediação cultural e promoção da igualdade de género, procurando responder à necessidade de construir um repertório visual mais inclusivo. Adotando uma metodologia qualitativa, o estudo articula a análise crítica de livros ilustrados, a realização de entrevistas semiestruturadas com profissionais da área e uma etapa de validação com o público-alvo. A proposta editorial resultante, revela-se ajustada às necessidades cognitivas e visuais das crianças, contribuindo para ampliar a presença feminina nas narrativas visuais, destinadas aos mais jovens. Este projeto visa, assim, reforçar a visibilidade das mulheres na historiografia do Design português, enquanto problematiza as lacunas ainda existentes no panorama editorial contemporâneo, evidenciando o potencial do Design Editorial como prática ética e transformadora.	por
dc.description.abstract	This research is situated within the field of the History of Design in Portugal, addressing the invisibility of women in visual narratives aimed at a young audience. It identifies a persistent gap in the representation of female figures in children's editorial design, contrasting with the significant contributions of several Portuguese women designers throughout the 20th century — with particular emphasis on Maria Keil, a pioneering figure in Portuguese Design and Illustration. Based on this diagnosis, the research proposes the development of an illustrated children's book as an instrument of cultural mediation and promotion of gender equality, aiming to contribute to the construction of a more inclusive visual repertoire. Adopting a qualitative methodology, the study combines critical analysis of illustrated books, semi-structured interviews with professionals in the field, and a validation stage involving the target audience. The resulting editorial proposal proves to be suited to children's cognitive and visual needs, helping to increase the female presence in visual narratives aimed at young people. This project thus aims to reinforce the visibility of women in the historiography of Portuguese Design, while questioning the gaps that still exist in the contemporary publishing scene, highlighting the potential of Editorial Design as an ethical and transformative practice.	por
