de operação do Sistema de Armas (SA) P-3C CUP+ dá
origem a um novo paradigma no contexto nacional. Sendo ainda considerada pela OTAN
uma aeronave com provas dadas na sua tipologia de missão, de que forma irá o país suprir
as suas necessidades, finda a operação deste SA?
Este estudo, através de análise documental e entrevistas a operadores nacionais,
investiga como será o Ambiente Operacional na próxima década e que tipo de plataforma
irá ser necessária para fazer face às ameaças do futuro.
Recorrendo a uma metodologia de raciocínio indutivo assente numa investigação
maioritariamente qualitativa, com algum reforço quantitativo e com base no estudo de caso,
perspetiva-se que o futuro SA de Vigilância e Patrulhamento Marítimo a operar pela Força
Aérea Portuguesa deverá ser uma aeronave de estrutura e performance semelhante ao atual,
com melhorias essencialmente ao nível do sistema de missão, performance, armamento
inteligente e dotada de capacidade de operação em rede. Abstract: The approach of the operating horizon of THE P-3C CUP+ gives rise to a new
paradigm in the national context. If it is still considered an aircraft which has proven is
worth in its mission typology, how will the country meet its needs, with the end of operation
of this Weapon System(WS)? This study, through documentary analysis and interviews with
national operators, investigates what the Operational Environment will look like in the next
decade and what kind of platform will be needed to address the threats of the future. Using
mainly inductive reasoning methodology based on qualitative research reinforced with
quantitative methods and based on a case study, one can envion that the future Maritime
Surveillance and Patroll WS to be operated by the Portuguese Air Force should be an
aircraft of similar structure and performance to the current one, with improvements
essentially in the mission system, performance, intelligent armament and networked
operation capability.
