Abstract(s)
The events, in particular the music festivals are a cultural phenomenon with large membership at the present time, for the most diverse motivations and that generate economic development in the regions where they occur. This dissertation intends to investigate three types of impacts in coastal part and inner part, which hosts the Event MEO Southwest. More specifically, it aims to analyze the environmental, socio-economic, in the municipalities covered by the Southwest Festival, Aljezur and Odemira. After review of the most important pillars for events, socio-economic and environmental impacts, tourism, introduced the case study, the "Southwest Festival" and the respective impacts, in the municipalities of Odemira and Aljezur, through investigation. The research methodology uses semi-diretive interviews and surveys, in order to investigate the impacts that make up the subject of investigation. For this purpose, interviews were carried out with current and former representatives of the Municipalities concerned and the maximum representative of the Company 'Música no Coração', which organizes the Southwest Festival. In order to obtain also a perspective of the target audience that went to the Festival in the 2018 Edition and on the same assumptions, an inquiry by anonymous questionnaire was applied in a random sample and the results will be reflected in this dissertation. The questionnaire surveys allowed the participants to assess the Festival's aspects, both personally and in general, including the same assumptions, others of an emotional and motivational nature, and the feedback is highly positive. Summary in this work we could conclude that the municipalities of Odemira and Aljezur are strongly influenced by the realization of the investigated event, MEO Sudoeste, regardless of the studied impacts, either the environmental, social or economic impact. In this sense we have identified that the environmental effects are highly detrimental to both municipalities, and the socioeconomic impacts are quite beneficial.
