Este relatório descreve o percurso de aquisição de competências durante o Estágio de Natureza
Profissional do Mestrado em Enfermagem Médico-cirúrgica, com especialização na área de
Enfermagem à Pessoa em Situação Perioperatória, na Escola Superior de Enfermagem do Porto.
A Ordem dos Enfermeiros destaca a importância dos Enfermeiros Especialistas em Enfermagem
Médico-cirúrgica à Pessoa em Situação Perioperatória na melhoria da gestão dos cuidados de
enfermagem, particularmente no contexto perioperatório, onde a promoção da saúde e a
prevenção de eventos adversos são fundamentais.
O estágio foi realizado em instituições hospitalares no Norte de Portugal, abrangendo a Unidade
de Cirurgia de Ambulatório e o Bloco Operatório Central em dois momentos: Módulo I e Módulo
II. O Estágio de Natureza Profissional teve como objetivo o desenvolvimento de competências
clínicas comuns e especializadas, com ênfase nas intervenções do enfermeiro na gestão da
hipotermia em qualquer fase do perioperatório, uma condição comum e evitável que pode
impactar negativamente os resultados clínicos esperados.
Durante o período perioperatório, são frequentes as alterações na termorregulação, que podem
levar à hipotermia inadvertida. Esta condição é vista como um evento adverso comum, mas que
pode ser evitado, e está associada a desfechos negativos (Mendes et al., 2021a). Através de
uma revisão narrativa da literatura, procurei mapear e sintetizar de forma estruturada a
evidência científica mais atualizada, resultando na elaboração de uma sessão formativa para a
equipa, que culminou na criação de uma instrução de trabalho validada por um grupo de peritos
(focus group).
Neste relatório, descrevo os contextos clínicos onde realizei o estágio, apresento um plano de
conceção de cuidados e descrevo, de forma crítica e reflexiva, como os contextos, a conceção
de cuidados e as experiências vivenciadas contribuíram para o desenvolvimento de
competências, além de expor o conjunto de saberes adquiridos relativamente ao projeto
delineado no Módulo I.
A metodologia adotada incluiu uma abordagem descritiva e crítico-reflexiva, com suporte da
evidência científica. A elaboração deste relatório foi sustentada na plataforma pedagógica da
Escola Superior de Enfermagem do Porto, e4Nursing, em uso na instituição.
A experiência do Estágio de Natureza Profissional permitiu uma imersão em diversas áreas da
prática clínica, promovendo o desenvolvimento de competências técnicas e relacionais, bem
como a consolidação de valores éticos. A reflexão crítica sobre as intervenções realizadas e a
adoção da temática central - gestão da hipotermia, contribuiu para um entendimento mais profundo dos cuidados de enfermagem no contexto perioperatório. Apesar dos desafios
enfrentados, como a conciliação entre a vida académica, profissional e pessoal, o estágio foi
enriquecedor e representou um marco na minha trajetória profissional.
Por fim, o relatório é um testemunho do meu crescimento pessoal e profissional, destacando a
importância da formação contínua e da aplicação de práticas baseadas em evidências, com
vista à melhoria da qualidade dos cuidados de enfermagem.
This report describes the process of acquiring skills during the Professional Internship of the Master's Degree in Medical-Surgical Nursing, specializing in the area of Perioperative Nursing, at the Escola Superior de Enfermagem do Porto. The Order of Nurses highlights the importance of Nurses Specializing in Medical-Surgical Nursing for People in Perioperative Situations in improving the management of nursing care, particularly in the perioperative context, where health promotion and the prevention of adverse events are fundamental. The internship was carried out in hospital institutions in the north of Portugal, covering the Ambulatory Surgery Unit and the Central Operating Room in two stages: Module I and Module II. The Professional Internship aimed to develop common and specialized clinical skills, with an emphasis on nurse interventions in the management of hypothermia at any stage of the perioperative period, a common and preventable condition that can negatively impact expected clinical outcomes. During the perioperative period, changes in thermoregulation are common, which can lead to inadvertent hypothermia. This condition is seen as a common but preventable adverse event and is associated with negative outcomes (Mendes et al., 2021a). Through a narrative review of the literature, I tried to map and synthesize the most up-to-date scientific evidence in a structured way, resulting in the preparation of a training session for the team, which culminated in the creation of a work instruction validated by a focus group of experts. In this report, I describe the clinical contexts where I carried out my internship, present a care design plan and describe, in a critical and reflective way, how the contexts, care design and experiences contributed to the development of skills, as well as explaining the knowledge acquired in relation to the project outlined in Module I. The methodology adopted included a descriptive and critical-reflective approach, supported by scientific evidence. The preparation of this report was based on the pedagogical platform of the Escola Superior de Enfermagem do Porto, e4Nursing, in use at the institution. The experience of the Professional Internship allowed for immersion in various areas of clinical practice, promoting the development of technical and relational skills, as well as the consolidation of ethical values. The critical reflection on the interventions carried out and the adoption of the central theme - hypothermia management - contributed to a deeper understanding of nursing care in the perioperative context. Despite the challenges faced, such as reconciling academic, professional and personal life, the internship was enriching and represented a milestone in my professional career. Finally, the report is a testimony to my personal and professional growth, highlighting the importance of continuous training and the application of evidence-based practices with a view to improving the quality of nursing care.
