Abstract(s)
conhecimentos, promove a capacitação e reestruturação.
Since the average life expectancy has increased, along with the presence of various pathologies that influence the individualās degree of dependence, specific needs arise and the informal caregiver assumes a crucial role. The act of caring presents a dependency of a fundamental nature; thus, the informal caregiver assumes additional responsibility for dealing with the person in a context of dependency, subjecting himself to various consequences, physical, psychological, social, cultural and economic, which can translate up in overload. In this way, the nursing professional assumes a prevailing position, working as an anchor in the quality of life of informal caregivers and dependent people. This Internship Report aims to make known the path taken during the Community Nursing and Public Health Internship and Final Internship, as well as the project developed. It followed the Health Planning Methodology, on which we based the Community intervention project applied to informal caregivers, inserted in the ECCI of a UCC of ULSNA. The project developed, applied to the informal caregivers, mentioned above, highlighted the importance of effective communication and the promotion of health literacy, as fundamental aspects in relieving the burden and consequently their observed satisfaction, regarding the ECCI that accompanied them. Faced with a new adaptive process, which is extremely complex and requires time, the Spe- cialist Nurse in Community Nursing, in the area of Community Health and Public Health Nurs- ing, imparts additional skills to obtain new knowledge, promotes training and restructuring. Thus, through the acquired knowledge, they select the most appropriate strategies for each situation, directing their actions towards empowerment and decision-making capacity. Health literacy directly influences the care provided by informal caregivers and, therefore their quality of life.
