Abstract(s)
Atualmente, a
repercussões a nível global, apresentando características semelhantes. Tomando outra
At the end of the 19th century, the 2nd Revolt of the Brazilian Navy took place, an internal Brazilian political-constitutional conflict, following the implantation of the Republic on November 15th, 1889. A Portuguese naval force commanded by Commander Augusto de Castilho was part of the international force that intervened in the conflict with the aim of protecting the national interests of each country. The Portuguese naval force was composed of two mixed corvettes, the mixed corvette Mindelo and Afonso de Albuquerque. The international intervention was guided by a neutral and impartial posture. This type of conflict is characterized by being a low-intensity, geographically restricted conflict with long-term impact, marked using naval blockade tactics. The impact of the conflict in Rio de Janeiro was felt economically by several European powers, which thus justified their presence. Today, piracy is one of the greatest obstacles to maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea, and similarly to what happened at the end of the 19th century in Rio de Janeiro, incidents of piracy are incidents with little geographical expression, but which have repercussions at global level, presenting similar characteristics. Taking another perspective of space-time as a reference, it is possible to compare the two moments and establish similarities
