Abstract(s)
A promoção da saúde mental na adolescência eleva-se como um foco de atuação
prioritário de intervenção do Enfermeiro Especialista em Saúde Infantil e Pediátrica, no sentido
da adoção de comportamentos potenciadores de saúde, promovendo dessa forma o
crescimento e o desenvolvimento infantil.
Esta temática ilustra o projeto de intervenção elaborado, insere-se na linha de
desenvolvimento ‘necessidades em cuidados de enfermagem em populações específicas’, e
tem a sua fundamentação na Teoria das Transições de Afaf Meleis. Com recurso à
metodologia de projeto, considerando as necessidades e especificidades de cada contexto, e
visando o reforço dos fatores protetores da saúde mental ao longo do ciclo de vida, foram
realizadas várias atividades. Dentro destas, destacamos a criação de uma biblioteca na
Unidade de Cuidados Intensivos Pediátricos, a elaboração do ‘ebook’ intitulado ‘Regulação
Emocional – um guia prático para adolescentes’ e o ‘Desenha a tua emoção’.
Paralelamente, refletimos a práxis clínica e fundamentámos o processo de tomada de
decisão naquele que foi o percurso efetuado durante os diversos contextos de estágio
(Estágio I e Estágio Final) na aquisição de competências comuns de enfermeiro especialista,
competências específicas da área de saúde infantil e pediátrica, assim como, competências
inerentes ao grau de mestre.
Mental health promotion in adolescence is a high priority intervention for the Specialist Nurse in Child and Pediatric Health, in the sense of adopting health-enhancing behaviours, thus promoting child/adolescent’s healthy growth and development. This was the theme guiding the intervention project implemented along the clinical settings. It is within the line of development ‘nursing care needs in specific populations' and it is grounded in Afaf Meleis' Theory of Transitions. Alongside project methodology, considering the needs and specificities of each context, and aiming to reinforce protective factors for mental health throughout the life cycle, activities were caried out. Among these, we highlight the implementation of a library in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the development of an ‘ebook’ entitled ‘Emotional Regulation – A Practical Guide for Adolescents and ‘Draw your Emotion’. Simultaneously, we reflected on the clinical practice in all different settings (Estágio I e Estágio Final) and justified all our decision-making process, showing evidence of the acquired and developed competences (universal, specific and masters’ degree).
