Abstract(s)
As
manifestamente desconhecidas no seio do design gráfico e
Brutalist design has manifested itself in the digital environment as a communication alternative increasingly explored by several brands, with particular emphasis on the areas of fashion, music and museology. The graphic particularities of this style are often confused with other styles that are also widely explored in web design, such as minimalism and anti-design. This dissertation, anchored in the studies of trends, graphic design and advertising, seeks to understand the borders of brutalism in web-design, as a communication strategy for brands, confronting these borders with those of minimalism and anti-design, proposing a Guide to clarify the stylistic particularities of these three distinct graphic approaches, still clearly unknown within graphic design and advertising. The Guide thus intends to serve as a tool for the interpretation and application of the three styles mentioned, with particular emphasis on brutalism as a communication strategy, contributing to the study of trends in the areas of Graphic Design and Advertising.
