Abstract(s)
A metodologia
This study presents the results of the investigation carried out in the Lisbon Metropolitan. We present the occupational risks of workers, in the area of railway maintenance, and the perception that workers face these same risks. To try to understand what is the risk and type of accidents that happen, we use a wide bibliography. The professional categories studied, were those in which occupational risks are higher at the level of accidents at work. We refer to the categories of Highway officer, technicians (auxiliary and main technicians, better known as MOM ´ 's). The methodology used in this case study encompassed the interview and the survey of land with participant observation. Risk assessment is the key tool for preventing accidents and occupational diseases. With this work, we also want to assess the perception of risks involving workers in the performance of their functions. It has been observed, that workers have some awareness of the risks, but they underestimate the personal effects of these same risks in short-lived or routine jobs. The risk assessment has made it possible to identify the activities analyzed, in the tasks where this risk is higher, and also to define intervention priorities. In 2014 – 2016 The track officers recorded an increase in the number of accidents at work, while in the MOM ´ 's category, this increase occurred in the years 2014 and 2015. Accidents at work, both in the track officers or in the MOM ´ s have had human causes, derived from stress, night time and the requirement of the type of work. From the analysis of the results obtained it is deduced that, although the study workers identify the main risks existing, they devalue certain risks. This tendency decreases with experience and professional habits.
