| dc.description.abstract | A evolução do sector turístico mundial, nomeadamente a sua extensão a franjas da população com algum grau de deficiência, veio trazer aos destinos turísticos com vocação de futuro, oportunidades de desenvolvimento de novas ofertas turísticas e ao mesmo tempo grandes desafios. Pretendeu-se com esta investigação aprofundar o conhecimento sobre a temática da Acessibilidade nos destinos Lisboa e Algarve, para se perceber qual a dimensão deste fenómeno, qual o nível de atenção oferecido por parte de alguns agentes-chave, quais as metas alcançadas, os planos para colocar em prática e a razão pela qual Portugal não é visto como um destino totalmente acessível. Constatou-se através de uma análise qualitativa que existe muita oferta turística parcialmente acessível por não abarcar todos os tipos de deficiência e porque os recursos não se encontram interligados entre si em rotas acessíveis. A falta de formação, consciência e sensibilidade nos meios humanos impede a prestação de serviços de excelência. A inexistência de políticas que implementem estratégias para eliminar barreiras existentes, tanto estruturais como comunicacionais, prejudica o desenvolvimento do Turismo Acessível. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | The evolution of the world tourism sector, namely its extension to the part of the population with a certain degree of handicap, brought opportunities to develop new touristic offers as well as great challenges to the touristic destinations with an eye towards the future. With this investigation we intend to deepen the knowledge on the topic of Accessibility in Lisbon and in the Algarve in order to comprehend the dimension of this phenomenon, the level of attention given to it by its key agents, the goals that have been reached, the plans still to be put into practice and the reason why Portugal is not yet seen as a completely accessible destination. We have concluded through a qualitative analysis that much of the touristic offer is only partially accessible for it does not cover all types of handicap, and resources are not interconnected in accessible routes. It is the insufficient training and the lack of awareness and IV sense of humanity that prevents the provision of service excellence. The non-existing policies which would implement strategies to eliminate both structural and communication barriers are prejudicial to the development of Accessible Tourism. | ing |
