Abstract(s)
This internship report aimed to develop the skills of the Specialist Nurse in Rehabilitation Nursing in the prevention of falls in the elderly people with complex wounds of the lower limbs and to develop common skills of the specialist nurse and specific skills of the Specialist Nurse in Rehabilitation Nursing. Afaf Meleis' Theory of Transitions was used as a theoretical framework for nursing. The presence of a complex wound in the lower limbs causes, among others, reduced mobility, pain, changes in sleep patterns, deformation, and functional impairment, resulting in loss of strength and muscle mass, decreased mobility of the joints of the lower limbs, gait problems and worsening of pain, factors associated with a high risk of falling. Considering falls as a public health problem with serious consequences for the person, health systems and society, it is essential to join efforts in their prevention. Considering the high risk of falls among people with complex wounds of the lower limbs, the following research question was defined: "What are the rehabilitation interventions in the management of falls in the older persons with complex wounds of the lower limbs?" In this sense, a Scoping Review was carried out with the aim of mapping the evidence, and two articles were found that met the inclusion criteria, suggesting the need for more research that produces relevant scientific evidence directed to this theme. This report describes the activities carried out over the different clinical teachings that allowed responding to the stipulated objectives and thus achieving the common and specific skills of the Specialist Nurse in Rehabilitation Nursing, and master skills.
