Abstract(s)
O aleitamento materno (AM) é essencial para o crescimento e desenvolvimento infantil, devido às
propriedades nutricionais e imunológicas do leite humano (LH). Esta necessidade é ainda maior no
caso de crianças prematuras ou doentes, o que torna a intervencão antecipada no AM fundamental.
Na ausência de leite materno (LM), o leite de dadora deve ser a segunda linha preferencial, neste
sentido surge a necessidade da intervenção dos Bancos de Leite Humano (BLH). O Enfermeiro
Especialista em Enfermagem de Saúde Infantil e Pediátrica (EEESIP) desempenha um papel vital
na promoção da amamentação e na implementação de cuidados que favoreçam a parentalidade e
a saúde infantil. Diagnostica e intervém em situações de risco, fornece cuidados antecipatórios,
e articula programas de saúde para promover o bem-estar infantil. A capacitação de profissionais
para apoiar e promover o AM desde o pré-parto é fundamental para garantir um início de vida
saudável e o crescimento e desenvolvimento infantil.
O presente relatório tem como objetivos gerais: analisar as competências comuns do Enfermeiro Especialista (EE), especificas do EEESIP e de Mestre. Identificar as intervencões do EEESIP
na doação de LH, no recurso aos BLH e promotoras do AM, e analisar o contributo dos BLH no
desenvolvimento e crescimento da criança. O percurso de desenvolvimento das competências foi
norteado pela Teoria do Cuidado Humano de Jean Watson, e teve como questão de partida “Qual a ˜
intervenção do EEESIP no AM e no contributo aos BLH?”. Para sua elaboração, foram realizadas
duas revisões narrativas em bases de dados científicas sobre as temáticas.
Espelha ainda a analise e reflexão do percurso de desenvolvimento de competências especializadas e comuns de EE, EEESIP e de Mestre na prática de Enfermagem em quatro contextos de Estágio, Serviço de Neonatologia, Internamento Pediátrico, Cuidados na Comunidade e Urgência Pediátrica, tenho em conta a mais recente evidência científica.
Breastfeeding is essential for infant growth and development due to the nutritional and immunological properties of human milk. This is specially true for premature or ill children, making the early intervention in breastfeeding key. In the absence of breast milk, donor milk should be the preferred alternative, highlighting the need for Human Milk Banks. The Specialist Nurse in Child and Pediatric Health plays a vital role in promoting breastfeeding and implementing care that supports parenting and child health. This role involves diagnosing and intervening in high-risk situations, providing anticipatory care, and coordinating health programs to promote child well-being. Onboarding and training professionals to support and promote breastfeeding from pre-birth is fundamental to ensuring a healthy start in life and the growth and development of children. The present report aims to: analyze the common competencies of Specialist Nurses, specific competencies of EEESIP, and Master’s level skills; identify the interventions of EEESIP in milk donation, the use of Human Milk Banks, and the promotion of breastfeeding; and analyze the contribution of Human Milk Banks to the development and growth of children. The development of competencies was guided by Jean Watson’s Theory of Human Caring, with the central question being, ”What is the intervention of EEESIP in breastfeeding and in contributing to Human Milk Banks?” To prepare this report, two literature reviews were conducted using scientific databases on the topics. It also reflects on and analyzes the development of specialized and common competencies of Specialist Nurses, EEESIP, and Master’s level practice in four contexts: Neonatology, Pediatric Ward, Community Care, and Pediatric Emergency, considering the most recent scientific evidence.
