Abstract(s)
O Clima de Segurança é dos conceitos mais estudados na tentativa de compreender a perceção dos trabalhadores sobre a segurança e saúde no trabalho nas organizações e qual a sua influência na causalidade e prevenção da sinistralidade laboral.
O estudo foi realizado numa empresa de betão pronto, e teve como objetivo principal caracterizar o clima de segurança, através da aplicação de um questionário a uma amostra de colaboradores do quadro e de prestadores de serviço, de modo a identificar os pontos fortes e fracos do mesmo.
Na primeira parte do trabalho foram feitas referências a conceitos e estudos sobre cultura e clima organizacional e cultura e clima de segurança.
A segunda parte foi dedicada á descrição da organização, metodologia utilizada, amostra, instrumento e procedimento e análise e discussão dos resultados empíricos.
No que concerne aos dados obtidos observou-se que a média das diferentes subescalas do Clima de Segurança relativas à Segurança Física se situa no intervalo entre 3,14 e 4,77 e o desvio padrão oscila entre 0,59 e 1,39. A subescala com a média mais elevada é a subescala Responsabilidades (M = 4,77), sendo a subescala Aprendizagem Organizacional (M = 3,14) a de média mais baixa. Ordenando as subescalas pela média decrescente verificamos a seguinte sequência: Responsabilidades, Chefia Direta, Administração, Regras e Procedimentos, Comunicação para a Segurança, Equipamentos de Protecção Individual, Colegas, Formação em Segurança, Acidentes e Incidentes, Pressão no Trabalho, Aprendizagem da Organização.
No referente às subescalas do Clima de Segurança relativas à Segurança Psicológica, o Stress Ocupacional teve uma média de 1,87, tendo a do Assédio Moral apresentado uma média de 1,15.
Em complemento foi analisado a influência de diversas variáveis sociodemográficas e organizacionais sobre os resultado das referidas escalas.
Por fim foram efetuados alguns comentários sobre os resultados obtidos. Foram, igualmente, identificadas necessidades de melhoria e sugeridas algumas medidas de intervenção para promoção de um Clima de Segurança mais positivo e consistente.
The Safety Climate is one of the most studied concepts in an attempt to understand how the perception of employees on safety and health fits into organizational construct and what is its influence on the causality and prevention of work accidents. The study conducted at a concrete company aimed to characterize its safety climate by applying a questionnaire to a sample of employees in order to identify the strengths and weaknesses of it. In the first part of the work were made references to concepts and studies on culture and organizational climate and culture and safety climate. The second part was dedicated to the description of the organization, methodology, sample, instrument, procedure and analysis and discussion of the empirical results. Concerning the obtained data have observed that the average of the Physical Safety's different subscales of Safety Climate stood in the range between 3.14 and 4.77 and standard deviation ranged between 0.59 and 1.39. The subscale with the highest average is the Responsibilities subscale (M = 4.77), and the Organizational Learning subscale (M = 3.14) the lowest average. The ordering of the sub-scales based on average decrease of obtained scores is as follows: Responsibilities, Line Manager, Management, Occupational Satisfaction, Rules and Procedures, Safety Communication, Personal Protective Equipment, Partners, Safety Training, Accidents and Incidents, Working Pressure and Organizational Learning Regarding the subscales of the Psychological Safety, Occupational Stress had an average of 1.87, with the Bulling presented an average of 1.15. In addition it was analyzed the influence of various demographic and organizational variables on the outcome of the subscales. Finally some comments were doing about the results, and based on the needs for improvement identified, we suggest some intervention measures to promote a more positive and consistent Safety Climate.
